Feature and Follow

Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that is designed to provide some much-appreciated exposure to the bloggers participating, and to expand their following. Hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read, each of whom feature a chosen blog for the week, it's an interesting way to get to know one another.

If you would like to follow me right now you can do so by GFC, Twitter or Linky (right side).

Q: Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then "broke up" with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.

This is a hard question for me because usually it's the opposite. I don't like a character in the beginning but they grow on me later on. Alison brought up a good one though that I agree with Gale from The Hunger Games. I felt like I expected so much more from him but his character really fell flat in the last book.

I was really disappointed with Gale in the last book too.

Total agreement with Gale! I was more disappointed at Katniss for not "picking" him...

To be honest, I thought she took a pretty cheep direction in writing off Gale the way she did. Look, he's kind of maybe a murderer, you can't marry him! Better marry Peeta! Really? That's hardly a choice at all! New follower! My Follow

Hopping through. Gale was so disappointing. I wish he'd redeemed himself.

Same here! First I dislike characters, then slowly I start to like them. I had some issues with Gale, too, though I was more disappointed in the plot of the book overall than in him. *sigh*

Does it make me a horrible person that I never got as far as the last book? Too many of the characters disppointed me in the first couple to keep going.

You are literally like the 20th person who has mentioned Gale from Hunger Games. I totally haven't read the books yet. Now when I do, I'm gonna totally be waiting to hate him for no reason. Oh why oh why haven't I read those books yet!

Thanks for stopping by Book that Thing! Happy Friday to you :-) Have a good one.
I'm an old Linky follower, but am now also following via GFC.
I haven't yet read The Hunger Games, but you're not the only one that mentioned this particular character. I, too, really hate when a character doesn't live up to my expectations (development-wise).

I loved Gale! I wasn't too disappointed with him. He gave up on Katniss but she basically told him too. Oh well he probably has a hot wife in his new district.

{new follower here}

I am on chapter 5 of the last book and I have to agree he's not the kind of character I was led to perceive him as in the earlier books.
