Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that is designed to provide some much-appreciated exposure to the bloggers participating, and to expand their following. Hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read, each of whom feature a chosen blog for the week, it's an interesting way to get to know one another.
If you would like to follow me right now you can do so by GFC, Twitter or Linky (right side).
Q: This Sunday in the U.S. is Mother's Day. In celebration, what are some of your favorite books with strong mother/child relationships?
I can't think of any in particular that have stood out to me. There are some good mother daughter relationships. Like Dez and her mom in Destiny's Fire, Luke/Sera with their mom in Intangible and even Bella and her mom in Twilight. I'm sure I'll think about a bunch of examples later. Sometimes I feel like you almost forget they have parents..

I had the same thought. It took me forever to think up a mother/child example because I have been reading a lot of YA and there are either no parents or bad parents. But there are lots of examples that I'm reading from others that I wish I would have thought of.
New follower :)
I couldn't think of many, either. LOL

I really didn't know any particular mother-kid relationship, either. :/ As you've said, most of the times it's like they don't even have parents. oo

I drew a blank at first too.

It's funny how I read YA all the time but can't remember any parents at gun point. I did manage to remember some but not without serious thought. Happy Friday, Jen! :)
Old follower,
Stop by my FF post? :)
Definitely a tough question this week, seems a lot of YA doesn't focus on the mother/child relationship (though I'm still mad I forgot Little Women and Molly Weasley from HP!).
Happy friday!

It took me ages to think of an answer too. Great answer!

New follower!
So true, sometimes in YA books the parents really are not present at all.

It was a really hard question this week!!! Hard to come up w/an answer.
My "FF" post.
Now following via Linky!
I think a common characteristic in YA is probably the absent parents. Kids don't get up to such wild adventures when their parents are watching.
Here's my Follow Friday!
I had the same trouble thinking of one specific example, I have no idea why though haha Check out my FF @ http://best-of-ya.blogspot.com/2012/05/feature-follow-friday-20.html. I'm a new follower by the way!
