It's amazing how fast each week seems to be passing lately.

I'm hoping to get a bunch of reviews out this week. If not, the next couple of weeks. Things have been hectic with my dad's surgery and now we have gotten bad news about his cancer. To put it lightly Cancer Sucks. So I've been extremely sad, stressed and exhausted. Plus my husband's grandmother also passed away. Blogging is still fun and keeps my mind off things, I'm just mad at myself for being behind on the review part.

Books Purchased;

I picked up the Collectors Edition of Insurgent by Veronica Roth. So it comes with tatoos, poster and a shiny cover.

I actually read Glitch a long time ago when I had a review copy but it was ebook format and she happened to be at Andersons doing a book signing. So I got a personalized signed physical copy. Plus I love the fact that my last name is hidden in Heather Anastasiu's last name. lol.

I also was able to get a signed/personalized copy of Renegade by J. A. Souders

Book for Review (netgalley);

I definitely squealed with excitment over this one. I love the Goddess Test series so I'm so happy to get to read it now. I don't think I could wait until the end of Febuary. It also has a preview of Masked, Aimee Carter's new series. You can actually read my review of The Goddess Legacy I posted this week.

I haven't been exactly buying a ton of books. I've been trying to control myself and besides the Holidays are coming up so it gives people something to buy me. Plus I really need to make a bigger dent in my TBR list.

I was pretty excited to win a Dust Lands Prize pack from A Book and a Latte

It's a shirt and a hardcover edition of Dust Lands by Moira Young. The shirt is really nice quality too.

Last week I was also able to go to the Ally Condie book signing and while there picked up my copy of Reached. Which of course I also had signed along with Matched and Crossed. Along with signing books Ally was also giving away signed Matched Trilogy posters, so I have one of those too. I can't wait to frame it. I loved the book covers.

I love hearing authors talk about their books and the process they go through when writing them. Each author is unique in their experiences and I feel like it makes me a little more connected to a book when I read it. There were some really interesting tid bits about the covers. Now Authors really don't have say in their covers but I have to say this series has to be one of my favorite. The color of each book represents each color tablet. The Green, the Blue and the Red. Also what is really cool is the girl in the pictures is the photographer herself. She did self potraits of herself and then of course added the sphere later. The book signing was a lot of fun and she mentioned she actually wrote five other books before this series, so now I'm curious to check them out.

 

Yay so that's really all for books this week. I'm still just trying to get myself caught up and kind process some family health issues. So not too much activity last week. I did have a book spotlight for Halifax by Leigh Dunlap that is worth checking out and will be participating in the Rogue Blog Tour this week. So make sure to stop back and visit!

So the time change has had me off all day. Who knew that gaining and hour could make me so tired. Anyway I did spend some time wandering aimlessly around a couple of bookstores. I really do wander aimlessly, I'm surprised they don't kick me out for being some strange girl who has spent and hour going up and down the same aisle. I did pick up some books, some for my kids and some for me.

I had missed the Jessica Shirvingtong signing at Andersons a week or two ago. So I picked up autograph copies of her books. I love the cover of Entice.

Then I moved on to Barnes and Noble to pick up the manga version on The Infernal Devices...(can you tell I had coupons)

 

Even though I seem to find myself fighting my son over my Nook, I did pick up a bunch of ebooks. They were free and I was kind of cover shopping. With the exception of Roar and Liv, which I don't why I read it because now I'm even more anxiously awaiting Through the Ever Night then I was before.

So I've had myself on a book buying ban and have written one of these in a while. Even though I shouldn't be buying books. Well I still am. I've actually been trying hard to catch up on reading but my Nook went missing for a few days (this is what happens when you have kids). I've been working on catching up on reviews. Sometimes I think I take too long because I want to make sure the review does a book justice. So I have some scheduled for this week! Yay.

 

So what books did I get this week. Just one, but I waited anxiously by my mailbox for it

 

 

 

 I'm so excited to step back into the world of Fey, although I thought it was going to be in hardcover but it's in paperback. I'm kind of in a paperback mode right now anyway.

I made a new banner for my page too. It took me a while to get it the way I want it. So it might be switched over already. Hopefully all goes well with the switch.

So I'm starting to think I need to put myself on a book buying ban again because I've been crazy recently. Of course October is going to have a slew of awesome releases too.

 So from Epic Reads (@epicreads) I won The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson. This is my crazy picture I tweeted out. It was a pleasant surprise. It's one of those emails that you get that makes your day a little brighter because you definitely don't expect it. Here is a better picture below without my ugly mug in it.LOL. 

 

I've got some ebooks but I have to get them a little better organized and I'll share them next time. I've been in a reading physical copy mode this week. I think it's because I spend too much time with electronics at work and sometimes I need a break from them.

It's Sunday already...which means the weekend is gone already. I don't know how time goes by so fast. I had a test at the hospital this week which I then slept for almost 24 hours after so I didn't get as much reading done as I wanted. One of these weekends I'm going to say, Wow I read a ton of books this week, I hope I will anyway. On to the books.

So when I saw on Kiki Hamilton's site that The Torn Wing was released early (paperback) I almost had a heart attacked. I loved the first book so I was so excited and jumped on Amazon to order it right away. I've actually already read it and loved it just as much if not more than the first book. So excited to get my review out.

So I got some really cool stuff this week, thanks to some super cool people. If you are a hard core Harry Potter fan you probably have heard of the new set that has come out which includes some really cool bonus items. Well my friend El'Ahrai over at The Harvey and Bob Show gave me some of the cool things. Bonus Discs, Label Collection book and sketches. Which are my favorite part because I'm definitely going to frame them and hang them in my dining room.

 

 

So if you ever wonder about movies you should stop over to his blog because I have never met anyone who watches so many of them. He is always the person that I ask when I wonder if a movie is good or not.

 

 

A couple weeks ago I had won a contest over at Compelled by Words and didn't get a chance to post up my prize. Signed bookmarks. Actually I'm not sure if you call the larger ones bookmarks, I don't think I've ever known what they are called.

 

As far as books, I had ordered some and had some pre-orders. One of my pre-orders apparently got lost in the mail and I had to yell at Barnes and Noble. Their customer service is actually really good when you contact them. So books that have actually arrived!

 

A Want so Wicked by Suzanne Young, this is a great heart wrenching series. Which is what makes it great.

 

 

Origin by Jessica Khoury, this was a pre-order. Yay!

 

 

Witch Born by Amber Argyle, I bought this for my Nook because I really liked the first book

 

As far as things I've done this week, I did a review of Once by Anna Carey and the Labor Day Read-A-Thon at Letters Inside Out. Agenda for next week CATCH UP on reviews and emails!! :o) I feel like I'm always saying that.

Another week gone already. I feel like time is flying by right now. I haven't been on a computer at all this weekend, except for right now of course. Hmm so what did I get for books this week, well Barnes and Noble was having a sale on Fantasy Adventure books, which is a great time to pick up paperbacks, since their hardcovers are normally 39% off already.

So these books have been on my tbr list for a while and since they were only 5 dollars each, I thought why not pick them up. Which I did. Yay! My job is in one of it's busiest periods so I've been pretty exhausted. I'm excited for things to slow down hopefully soon so I can get reading like crazy.

Another crazy week for me as Summer is winding down. My son is turning 3 this week so we had his birthday party over the weekend so I'm getting to this post a little late. I have to say with Summer coming to a close we are getting closer to my favorite season, Fall and with Fall comes Pumpkin flavored goodies. I've already had all 3 different Pumpkin Lattes from Caribou coffe (they just started them on Friday), now if I could sit somewhere quiet and sip them while I read....then that would make for an even better day.

So my haul this week is pretty exciting. I'm part of the C.C. Hunter street team so I got my kit yesterday. Hooray!!

So Thanks to the always wonderful St. Martin's Press who sent me this nifty Shadow Falls bag, t-shirt, notebook, bookmarks, signed book plate and of course ARC of Whispers at Moonrise. I might have given it all a little hug...or a big hug. I'm excited to get the word out about the series.

 So I spent the majority of my week on vacation. Hooray! We spent a lot of time in the car but I just can't read while traveling the way I did when I was a kid. Even just looking at my phone makes me car sick. So I didn't really get a ton of reading done and I didn't buy any books. I did stop at some local bookstores and of course found myself drawn to the New York Public Library, which I instantly feel in love with.

 I came home to a happy surprise of books waiting for me so I do have some to
share!

I'm participating in the Nerve Blog Tour and so I'm part of the group reading the traveling Arc, so I've actually already read it and will be mailing it out to the next person on Monday.

A very cool signed and personaled Remembrance by Michelle Madow bookmark. Although I don't think bookmark is the right word for it since it's bigger but it will go in my book.

I won an ARC copy of Once by Anna Carey from Victoria Scott, because I stalk her blog.... I'm pretty excited to see what happens in this book. I feel like it's been many moons since I've read Eve. She also sent a Dante Walker bookmark....Mmm Dante Walker. Which if you haven't checked out his new site it's a must!
